Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Rookie Ike Davis hit a three-run homer and knuckleballer R.A. Dickey went 8 1/3 innings, as the New York Mets earned a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the rubber match of a three-game set at Citi Field. Angel Pagan chipped in two hits including a triple and scored twice, while Carlos Beltran contributed a run-scoring single for the Mets, who won for only the third time in the last 10 games overall. Dickey (7-4), who was working on three days rest after exiting his last start on Sunday with a left leg injury after 5 2/3 innings, was sensational. He yielded only four hits, finishing with two strikeouts and a pair of walks. Francisco Rodriguez retired the final two batters in the ninth to pick up his 22nd save of the season. Jon Jay had a double for St. Louis, which has dropped five of seven since winning eight in a row. Ryan Ludwick, Skip Schumaker and Colby Rasmus had the other Cardinal hits -- all singles. Blake Hawksworth (4-7) worked six innings, allowing seven runs on four hits with three walks and as many strikeouts in taking the loss.
Jimenez gets 16th win as Rockies snap eight-game slide
Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Ubaldo Jimenez turned in seven strong innings and Clint Barmes drove in three runs as Colorado blitzed Pittsburgh, 9-3, to stop an eight-game losing skid in the finale of a three-game series at Coors Field.
Desmond helps Nats win series from Braves
Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Ian Desmond and Adam Dunn each homered, as the Washington Nationals edged the Atlanta Braves, 5-3, in the rubber match of a three-game series.

St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Carlos Pena went 3-for-4 with a home run and drove in all of Tampa Bay's runs, as the Rays completed a four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers with a 4-2 victory. David Price picked up his AL-best 14th victory after limiting the Tigers to two runs in 6 1/3 innings. He allowed seven hits, walked two and struck out nine for the Rays, who have won six in a row. Dan Wheeler recorded the final six outs to record the save, his second of the season. Rick Porcello (4-9) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in 7 1/3 innings. The right-hander also fanned eight, but lost his fifth consecutive decision. Will Rhymes and Ramon Santiago each went 2-for-4 for the Tigers, who have dropped six of seven.
